IRONMAN Wales for The Teleri-Mia Foundation

In just under 2 weeks, James Gow, Jodie Gow and Darryl Thomas will be taking on the challenge of IRONMAN Wales. In this challenge they will be supporting a foundation that is very close to their hearts - The Teleri-Mia Foundation

James, Jodie and Darryl will be aiming to complete: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run, at Tenby, on the 3rd of September 2023.

Kirbie and Luke, the incredibly brave parents of Teleri-Mia and close family of Jodie, James and Darryl, have explained more of what the foundation is all about below:

“Teleri was born on the 15th October 2021, she was a healthy, happy beautiful little girl from the very beginning. On the 13th August 2022, when Teleri was just under 10 months old, she suddenly become extremely unwell. Teleri then passed away on the 16th August. Teleri was so strong and put up the biggest fight, we are forever proud of her!

Our world has completely fallen apart since losing Teleri, and something we have realised is there is not much support in this area for bereaved parents. This is the reason we would like to start this foundation, to help other grieving parents and also to keep the memory of our beautiful little girl alive. We hope from this foundation, we will be able organise events, activities and support groups that will offer the opportunity for bereaved parents and families to meet and support each other, as they are the only people who truly understand the devastating heartache of losing a child. We hope that we will be able to fund counselling sessions for parents that need them and so much more. Teleri was the kindest little soul and we know she would want us to help other families going through what we are ”
