Iron Man Barcelona!

On October 6th 2024 I will be taking on the monumental challenge of IronMan Calella 140.6 event in Barcelona.
This is a gruelling triathlon event consists of a 3.8km (2.4 mile) sea swim, 180.2km (112 mile) bike ride, and a 42.2km (26.2 mile) run all in one go.
The training for this event started at the beginning of this year and has been tough and intense to say the least, the number of hours and miles that has gone into this training has really pushed me to my limits this time. The sacrifices made by myself not only include my time but also that of my wife and boys time, and our family time together, they have endured and supported all the ups and downs of training for something like this, which I will forever be grateful for, they really are my biggest fans and I can only hope that I do them proud on the day.
I have taken part and completed some major endurance events prior to this, completing marathon and ultra marathons, but none have prepared me for this and what has been involved.
Just completing this event would be a monumental achievement!
I am focusing my fundraising on two separate causes, the first is funds for an amazing local charity, Be More Oscar raising funds and awareness for the life-limiting degenerative neurological condition called Battens Disease.
The second for my eldest son Dexter's grass roots football team which will contribute towards helping these amazing, talented young boys and girls with kits and equipment. Being part of a team as a youngster is more than football, its lifelong friendships, forever memories and gives these young guys the right tools to be successful as they grow.
