Solidarity fundraiser for Irish Times pub workers
Donation protected
On the 2nd of August, a group of neo-Nazis were ordering beer at Irish Times Pub when a staff member confronted them about their fascist tattoos. The conversation escalated and one of the fascists called the bartender a f****t. They stopped pouring the fascist's beer, spat in it, refused to serve them and told them to leave.
Instead of being celebrated for standing up to neo-Nazi intimidation and upholding the bartender's refusal of service, the bartender and another staffer were fired. Then an apology was issued to the fascists!
We can't stand by while hapless bosses give in to fascist intimidation and staff willing to stand up for those who stand up for us. That's why we're raising money to support a queer charity chosen by the fired staff. Join us on September 10th and show your solidarity. Location to be announced.
By providing material aid and attending the event and donating we will show:
- That we have each others' backs and won't be intimidated into tolerance of the intolerant.
- That we stand together with those who stand up to fascists.
- That fascists have no place in our pubs, our clubs, and no place in society
Funds raised will go to:
- The queer charity chosen by staff
- These funds will be transferred directly from GoFundMe, to CUDL to the queer charity chosen by staff.
Why we have kept some information private:
- As mentioned, the Nazis who have reared their head at the Irish Times Pub seek to doxx and intimidate the staff and their affiliates.
- We care for the safety of our comrades and will do everything in our power to minimize the risks posed by these Nazi goons.
- We need to be careful in what undue attention publicly announcing the charity so that we don't inadvertently make them a target.
