River’s life has been changed by one very special dog - Samson.
Samson is River’s assistance dog, and with his support, River can walk more independently on the good days and sit with him on the bad days.
Samson was trained and gifted by Irish Dogs for the Disabled, an Irish charity that provides highly trained assistance dogs at no cost to children and adults who need them most.
Right now, this incredible charity is facing four times the demand for assistance dogs, and they urgently need help.
Irish Dogs for the Disabled has purchased a permanent home outside Cork City that will become their National Training Centre and Head Office, allowing them to train and support even more life-changing dogs like Samson. The property requires complete renovation, with a fundraising goal of €500,000 to make it safe, accessible, and operational.
They receive no annual government funding, and every dog costs approximately €15,000 to train and support.
River and Samson are raising funds to give back to the charity that gave them independence, confidence, and hope, and to help ensure that more families can experience the same life-changing support.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps build a future where more children can walk, grow, and thrive with their own assistance dog by their side.
Thank you for supporting River, Samson, and Irish Dogs for the Disabled.
