We are two best friends who have come together to begin a charity project in Marrakech inspired by our recent trip there.
During our recent holiday to Marrakesh we came to learn Morocco is one of the poorest countries in the region of Northern Africa with Marrakesh being the poorest city in the continent with the lowest standard of living.
For those of you who do not know Marrakech is a source, destination and transit city for women and children who are subjected to trafficking, specifically forced labor and forced prostitution. There are over 30, 000 street children in Marrakesh alone living in poverty. £1 is equivalent to 12 dirhams. That is sufficient to provide three nourishing meals for the entire day. Feeding a poor child prevents them from being sold into prostitution due to poverty.
We have teamed up with Marrakech Mansions and hope to raise funds to provide essential food packages to the most vulnerable children and families in Marrakech this Ramadan.
A singular food pack is only £30 and has sufficient food to feed a whole family for the entire month of Ramadan.
