iPads against Isolation

OUR ELDERLY NEIGHBOURS NEED US URGENTLY - Even $10 helps!
Hi!
We are all going through difficult times. Some of us are working from home, some of us haven't hugged loves ones in a while and some of us have even lost our jobs.
Some of us have it even worse.
Castleview Wychwood Towers, a City of Toronto Long Term Care home at Dupont and Christie, had kept a record of 85 days with no COVID within their walls. They'd stopped all visitors, unnecessary vendor stops and increased sanitary procedures in-house. They fought and fought and kept everyone healthy.
This week it all changed.
Tests have been coming back positive. COVID-19 is making its way through the home. It's not enough to keep the home isolated. Now, the ~450 residents have been isolating in their semi-private rooms.
No more recreation time, no more visits, and with the decreasing numbers of staff on hand, less and less human contact.
We need funds ASAP so we can purchase the following to connect the residents to the outside world:
Tablets
Tablet stands
Smart phones
Over-ear Headphones
DVDs
e-Readers
NOTE: If you have old or used tablets/smart phones/anything, please let me know and I will pick them up from you!
While Toronto and Ontario governments have been supporting the homes with the necessary medical and logistics support, the community is concerned about the residents and their mental health. Imagine being in a small room, lonely, scared and with no entertainment or contact to the outside world.
I thank you so much for your support, big or small. $3, $30 or $300!
We can't heal the sick, but maybe we can entertain the lonely.
