Hey Friends, Family, and Community!
I’m honored to share that I will be attending the International AIDS Society Conference (AIDS 2025) in Kigali, Rwanda this July! This gathering is one of the largest and most impactful convenings of scientists, advocates, policymakers, and community leaders working toward the end of the HIV epidemic.
In addition to attending the conference, I am co-organizing a community event with local partners in Rwanda to uplift community voices around HIV cure research, health equity, and access to prevention. The event will include an HIV Cure 101 tailored to the local context, a panel with researchers and community members, and a powerful dialogue on modern HIV prevention tools like long-acting PrEP.
As someone deeply rooted in community engagement, Black health, and HIV advocacy, this experience is deeply meaningful and part of my commitment to ensure research reflects the lives and priorities of those most impacted. My participation is not only personal—it’s collective.
Although I’ve applied for a scholarship to help cover my attendance, I’m reaching out for community support to cover auxiliary travel costs such as meals, ground transportation, lodging adjustments, and other travel needs that may not be fully covered.
Ways You’re Helping:
- Supporting Black-led community work on a global stage
- Contributing to culturally-rooted HIV education and engagement in East Africa
- Helping me continue my work building safe, affirming spaces for women and people living with HIV
Every contribution—no matter the size—brings me one step closer to Kigali, and one step closer to amplifying the kind of HIV advocacy that centers care, connection, and community.
Thank you for believing in this work and in me.
With gratitude,
