Interfaith Winter Campaign for the Shelter
Tax deductible
Thank you for supporting the Harvard Sq. Homeless Shelter - Winter Interfaith Fundraiser.
Donations to this campaign, up to the $2,500 mark, will be generously matched by the Harvard Chaplains.
The Harvard Sq. Homeless Shelter (HSHS) is closed this season, but our guests are still in need. In response to the freezing conditions our unhoused neighbors are forced to weather, we have worked to establish the HSHS-University Lutheran Street Outreach Team, staffed by members of the Cambridge community without contact with the Harvard residential community. 6 nights weekly, we give out warm clothes, hot food, survival blankets, hand warmers, snacks, drinks, and most importantly, comprehensive lists of shelter resources to connect them to the housing that’s available.
The money will go through the Phillips Brooks House Association Incorporated, directly to the Shelter.
If we raise more money than our goal, any extra money will go to support the other operations of the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, upon its reopening.
More information about Phillips Brooks House Association Incorporated: PBHA strives for social justice. As a student-run organization, we draw upon the creative initiative of students and community members to foster collaboration that empowers individuals and communities. Through social service and social action, PBHA endeavors to meet community needs while advocating structural change.
