Help Support My Year of Mission, Ministry & Theology!
Hi! My name is Ike, and I’ve just completed my Master’s degree in Engineering. Now, I’m stepping into an entirely new season of life—one filled with mission work, ministry, and deep theological study—and I’m inviting you to be part of it.

Where It All Started
In 2018, I went on a humanitarian trip to Uganda with a charity called International Needs. It was, without question, one of the best experiences of my life. Despite having so little, the joy, faith, and generosity I witnessed from the people there left a mark on me forever. I had the chance to assist in the construction of homes and sanitation systems, and the impact it had on me was just as profound as the help we were able to give.

Before university, I planned to return for a gap year—but then COVID hit, and those plans were put on pause. Since finishing university, I’ve been prayerfully searching for a new opportunity to give back and grow… and little did I know, God had already gone ahead of me.

A Journey of Faith and Growth
Faith has always been central to my life. But recently, something shifted. After an unexpected debate with a Muslim friend, I realised I didn’t know my own faith as deeply as I thought I did. That moment sparked something in me—I began reading, watching debates, and wrestling with deep theological questions.

This pursuit led me to take a theology module during my final year at university called Christian Theological Anthropology, and I absolutely loved it. I wanted more. So I spoke with one of the pastors at my church about taking a year out to pursue theology, mission, and ministry more intentionally. From there, doors began to open in a way that only God could orchestrate. I had signed a contract to start my career at Oliver Wyman once I finished my degree. After years of longing for financial independence, I made a choice to follow where God was leading despite being thrust completely the other way, into financial dependence. I was scared to ask them for a deferral, but I was resolved that if God was sending me to King's for a year, he would always provide for my needs. And OW agreed to the deferral, even though this isn't something they usually allow. I could see God working on my behalf.

What This Year Will Look Like
This year, I’ll be:
  • Serving full-time in youth ministry
  • Taking part in a theology course
  • Participating in an international mission trip

I recently walked into a meeting at church, and saw my name on a whiteboard next to a list of responsibilities and youth programmes I’d be helping with—it was both overwhelming and exciting. This year is going to stretch me beyond my comfort zone, but I believe it’s exactly where I’m meant to be.

Why I Need Your Help
This is a voluntary role. And as you know, the cost of living right now is intense. My biggest expenses will include:
  • £2000+ for car insurance
  • £1500+ Petrol for travel to and from work
  • ~£1000The cost of the mission trip
  • Some Basic living expenses throughout the year

If you feel led to support me financially—whether it’s a one-off gift or a recurring donation—I would be so grateful. Your generosity will allow me to say "yes" fully to this calling and serve wholeheartedly without worrying about how I’ll make ends meet.

And if you can’t give financially, I’d love your prayers, encouragement, or even just a share of this page. Every little thing helps.

Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for praying, giving, and cheering me on. I can’t wait to see how God moves in and through this next chapter.

With all my love,
Ike
