Park Road Trails: Insurance, Tools, and Maintenance Costs

Hi everyone, this is Sam and Dan from Park Road Trails. We are a small team of volunteers who help build and maintain the BMX / Mountain Bike / Bike jumps and trails in Faygate just outside of Horsham in West Sussex.

Every year, in order to run and use the trails, we are required to take out liability insurance. This is sadly a costly necessity.

Hand building and maintaining the trails is also hard on the tools and equipment we use. Each year we need to replace broken shovels, ripped tarps, wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, watering cans, buckets, locks etc which also adds up.

The trails are a passion project for all of us here at Park Road. We do it for the love of nature, the sport and sharing our creations with all of you each summer. The cost of the insurance is a relatively small price to pay compared to all the fun times and memories we get to make in our little slice of woodland. However, if you are able to donate, it will help us out immensely and we will greatly appreciate it.

Our insurance cost this year are going to be around £900 so if you've ever visited us and enjoyed your day, or plan to in the future, every little helps as they say. Please, please don't stretch yourself though and only donate if you are in position to do so as we know times are tough especially in the winter months.
