Hi, my name is George Mabeza and I am fundraising for Lionheart Sports Community Club, a registered Community Sports Club based in Kadoma, Zimbabwe.

In a country in which there is increasingly desperate economic hardship for most families, where young children are increasingly caught up in the grave challenges that Drug and Substance abuse, early pregnancies, HIV/AIDS, and school dropouts to name a few bring, a few dedicated individuals are fighting back through sport for young people.

Led by Reverand William Mawere, a Methodist Minister, Lionheart Sports Club aims to identify, inspire, transform and train youth, both boys and girls, between the ages of 9-21 in a variety of sports and sport related skills to not only keep them engaged in positive activities, but more importantly impart them with life skills for the future.

The Club motto is "Changing lives and communities through sports"

The club, which relies on voluntary donations faces huge economic challenges if they are to meet their ambitious goals, which include long term goals such as formal affiliation with ZIFA as a club, but more importantly the immediate goals such as financial help with basic equipment such as:

-soccer, volleyball and netball standard balls (boys & girls teams)

-pressure pumps

-football boots (shooters)

-playing and training kits (uniforms)

-training bibs

-shin guards

-goal post nets

-modern Standard First Aid Kits

The club also needs help with transport and are working towards a 32 seater bus for transporting the youngsters to and from Trial matches, competition games and other group activities
