From March 8th to 14th, 2026, I’m setting out on a heartfelt journey to Aotearoa, New Zealand for the Inspire Study Tour—a dream that means so much to me. This trip is about more than just learning new teaching methods; it’s about opening my heart to a different way of seeing children, nature, and community. In New Zealand, I’ll get to experience how Maori values shape early childhood education, where every child is seen, heard, and encouraged to explore the world with wonder. I can’t wait to visit preschools where curiosity and kindness are at the center of every day, and to see how teachers nurture each child’s spirit.
I owe so much of my passion to my mentor, Jamilah Trent, who has always shown me what it means to care deeply for others. Her encouragement has helped me believe in myself and in the power of love and compassion in teaching. This journey is a chance for me to grow, to bring back new ideas, and to create a classroom in Portland where every child feels valued and inspired.
Your support will help with travel, a safe place to stay, and everything I need to make the most of this experience. I’m especially excited to bring home the warmth and wisdom I find in New Zealand, and to share it with my students and community. With your help, I hope to make my teaching more loving, child-led, and inclusive—so every child I work with knows they matter. Thank you for believing in me and the children whose lives we can touch together.
