Yow!
My name is Omar Pusey and I am the founder and director behind Liming, a video series I am piloting in London to highlight community stories. I want to share the stories and perspectives of those within the London communities that often go unseen. Why not share these stories through a video project?
What is Liming?
If you’re wondering what “Liming” means, it’s a term used in Trinidad and Tobago that means to spend time with friends/family, socialize, or simply to hang out. Essentially, with each video I will be liming with people in the community.
The project consists of me and a few collaborators interviewing local communities in action, fostering an organic yet productive conversation on what people within their local communities do on a day to day basis. Each video will be dynamic, and not just be a static talking head video. To start, we wk.. develop 20 video interviews with people throughout the city. To date we have20 interviews confirmed and already shot 15+ video interviews across the London area.
After interviewing, the videos are edited and uploaded onto platforms such as Instagram and YouTube to show to the broader communities. When all interviews are uploaded, a team of artists will help in creating a physical art piece that captures all the people interviewed. Art pieces could include a mural, painting, display, etc.
What the funds will be used for
Funding would help go to accessing equipment, hiring a team to help with shooting interviews, operating social channels like YouTube and Instagram, and help with creative costs such as Graphic design and Art supplies. I do have access to some personal camera equipment, but access to more camera equipment would be very beneficial to the success of this project. The funds will help this project with creating more videos and become something sustainable and hopefully develop into a bigger project highlighting other communities in Canada. For example, with the funds I can help with hiring an additional editor, videographer, equipment like hard drives and more.
As of now, some of the funding has gone towards equipment such as Hardrives and lighting.
Examples of Equipment and resources needed

If you have any equipment or resources you think may be beneficial, please send me an email and we can have a chat. - [email redacted]
As this is a grassroots project, I will be pouring my own equipment, time and energy into the project. This project may provide exposure to businesses and creatives within the London region, which may indirectly lead to their own economic gain.
