Atebion (Welsh for solutions) is a none for profit grass roots initiative which has been developed to help people overcome addiction and other forms of trauma and adversity to rewrite their story and live the flourishing life they deserve.
In order to achieve our aims, we empower and connect individuals, families, and communities to identify and mobilise their assets and build on recovery capital.
We believe that every single person has the ability to grow beyond their addiction and adversity to achieve real purpose, and a sense of belonging.
Founded by Rich Price, Atebion's strategy has been developed in collaboration with Professor David Clark, an internationally recognised recovery advocate and former neuroscientist, alongside people with lived experience, and professionals in the field of recovery and asset based community development in response to the poor recovery outcomes in the mainstream system, and its failure to adequately tackle problems that lead to addiction and related issues.
The Atebion model is based on four interlinked components:
- The EPOC Programme (Eight Principles Of Change).
- The training and development of Recovery Advocates.
- Powerful lived experience story telling initiatives
- Education.
We seek funding which will allow us to deliver our project out in to the heart of our communities where it is needed the most.
£40 will cover the cost of a facilitator to deliver the EPOC programme for one hour. £780 will pay for the delivery of a full 9 week course for up to 15 people including the cost of the facilitators, course materials, and room hire.
Additional funds will pay for equipment and materials to deliver our education programme to schools, colleges, local and national businesses.
Long term, we hope to have a hub at the heart of our community, which will provide a safe and informative haven of trust and inspiration.
Your donations, however large or small are greatly appreciated .
Thank you.
