For those of you that are seeing this for the first time, I directed the film “The Abolitionists” with my directing partner and in that film we shared with the world the story of a little boy that was kidnapped from his church. Ever since being a part of that film I’ve never forgotten about him and until he’s found I never will. With each trip that I have made to Haiti and the Dominican looking for this little boy, it becomes clearer and clearer what needs to happen in order to find the solution.
This update is to give you an even closer look into the vision of what will, in the end, be the solution for the problem. The high level is we have to bring the people unto Christ and that change has to come from within. The key to this is helping the people help themselves. As much as we want to impose a solution, people never change unless it comes from within.
We will be working with the people through leaders in their community to help them raise up and when they see the bad that’s happening they will in turn take a stand. This is a long road to go but in these efforts there will be opportunities to help the innocent…we’ve seen that happen many times in the past and it will be those moments that make it all worth it and give hope to the long term strategy.
More to come.
