Increase Youth Mental Health Access In Florida

Growing up, I faced significant challenges with my mental health. As a student struggling with my own mental health problems, I found myself navigating a system that seemed to lack the resources and understanding necessary to support young people like me. It was a lonely journey, marked by moments where I felt invisible, misunderstood, and desperately in need of guidance that never came. I felt uncomfortable speaking to an adult in the school system, once even being offered a sticker as a sign of “support” when I truly needed accurate guidance. This lack of adequate support not only deepened my own struggles but also opened my eyes to a larger issue: countless youth in our community were silently battling similar obstacles, unable to access the help they needed. This realization fueled my determination to create change, to ensure that no one else would have to endure the isolation and uncertainty that I did. My journey to establishing Mental H2O is deeply personal, rooted in the belief that every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to the resources and support necessary for their mental well-being.

The funds donated here will directly go towards increasing the Mental H2O reach to schools across Hillsborough County and Florida. Improving our website, providing opportunities for students to get QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) certified to be gatekeepers of suicide, both in person and online marketing, and mental health events will all be supported with your donation.
