GO FUND ME!
Our animals deserve access to healthcare -- and they are not getting it!
Why? Because injured and aging animals cannot access essential physical therapy care due to unnecessary regulatory barriers enacted by the California Veterinary Medical Board in 2022.
The good news: there is a legislative remedy!
The Animal Physical Therapy Coalition (APTC) is a grassroots Coalition comprised of vets, vet techs, PTs, and consumers. It was founded to promote multidisciplinary collaboration for the benefit of the animal patient. APTC brings like-minded professionals and consumers together to lead the change in laws currently limiting access and affordability to animal PT care.
We believe that veterinarians should be able, at their discretion, to refer their patients to qualified physical therapists to treat animals via indirect supervision.
If referring to a qualified PT is in the best interest of their animal patients, the Vet should be afforded that option. Currently, animals are not getting the care they need because of new and onerous regulations enacted in 2022 by the California Veterinary Medical Board, creating a barrier to access.
We need your help to support our efforts to pass common-sense legislation so more animals can get the care they need where they need it in California.
Together we can make the change we all want to see.
