I’m starting this fundraiser to launch inclusive performing arts programming and summer camps in the Bay Area for kids of all abilities. As a parent of three children, including two who are neurodivergent (and one who is still a baby!) I have experienced firsthand how hard it is to find educational, recreational, and fun activities where children with disabilities are not just allowed to attend, but are truly accepted, included, and supported alongside typically developing kids.
That gap has been painfully personal for my family. I have yet to find a place where my 7 year old can participate in things he loves, like music and performance, in a way that he feels genuinely included and successful. Too often, programs say they accept kids with disabilities, but that is very different from creating a space where children are supported and where parents can feel confident their kids are safe there. I want families like mine to have a place where their children can play, learn, and grow alongside other kids of all abilities.
This program is my effort to build that space. We are planning classes and camps for children from 18 months to 18 years, grouped by age, where kids of all abilities can learn dance, movement, music, theater, and theater production together, then perform and have fun together. My hope is to create a community where inclusion is built in from the beginning, not treated as an afterthought.
- Donations will help us cover:
- Facility costs
- Accessibility aids
- Caregivers for medically complex children
- Support staff to lower ratios and better meet individual needs
- Tuition assistance for families with financial need
We are planning to begin programs on February 1, 2026, and we need to secure a facility before December, so support is especially important right now.
If this vision speaks to you, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Your support will help create a place where more children can experience the joy of performing arts together, and where families know their kids are truly included.
