A message from Viraj's family

It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Viraj Patel at the age of 34, a kind and loving young person who was called to heaven too soon due to an unexpected massive stroke on September 18, 2024.

On September 18, 2024, our lives took an unexpected, painful turn when Viraj suffered from an acute stroke. On September 24, 2024, our life, particularly Eric’s life, changed forever when Viraj tragically passed away, leaving behind a grieving family and countless friends. The expected and sudden loss has thrown all of us into deep sorrow. There is nothing that can replace the absence of our loving Viraj.

Viraj has been known for his calm and helpful nature. He was always there for friends, family, and colleagues regardless of his own challenges. The family moved to Canada in April of 2022 with plenty of dreams and aspirations that were cut short in the blink of an eye. Eric and Viraj had a unique bond. Eric promises his mom to become a doctor. So he could take of others’ dads. Five-year-old Eric feels the absence of his best friend & father but also expresses signs of maturity & strength when his mom needs the support.
