In This Family, No One Fights Alzheimer’s Alone
Hi. My name is Gina. I’m sure my mom is going to be reading this, angry that I started it to begin with.
As most of you know my dad, Ernie Tatro has been diagnosed with Advanced Staged Alzheimer’s at the very young age of 57. After working in a nursing home for 20 plus years, his only wish has been for us to never have to put him in one. Because of this my mom, Terry, has been doing all she can to keep him home.
Unfortunately, because of his age the process to get the help he needs hasn’t been easy.
One of the biggest issues being he cannot leave her side. She’s taken a family medical leave to try to set up someone coming in while she’s here in hopes he’ll get used to them, but this hasn’t been an easy task.
Her medical leave has been delayed and the process of getting him help is going to be much longer than anticipated because of his age.
They have been without income for a little while, and while my husband and I along with my brother Josh have been trying to help, there’s no way we are able to do it all.
I am just looking to try to get them some relief for a few months while she is working daily to get everything set in place. This money will be placed directly on bills and mortgage as she is trying so hard to keep what they’ve worked for their entire lives.
Thank you in advance for reading, sharing or donating. It all means so much!
