In support of Steven Smith's family

Hello friends and family of Steven Smith,

Last week, we lost a dear friend, husband, father, son, brother, musician, colleague and talented sound engineer following a sudden and acute medical episode on Father's Day. For those who knew Steven, you no doubt reveled in his straight-up sarcasm, his thirst for music and creating, his irreverence and no holds barred opinions, his expertise on confusing television narratives, his musical talents at gigs around Australia (and the world) as well as his recording and producing proficiency and maybe even a pint of his homemade brew or an insight into his many, many hobbies. As a friend he was loyal, thoughtful, kind, generous, funny, engaged, and always a good time.

Of Steven's greatest pride and accomplishments, he was also a devoted and loving father and husband and leaves behind his caring and supportive wife, Natalie, and his two adoring young children, Raye (4) and Darcy (1). Always thinking about his children, it was a joy to watch Steven take Raye and Darcy on his little adventures inside and outside the house. Together they could be found carefully unravelling cassette films from Steven's burgeoning collection, singing and recording new songs, finding rare treasures on the side of the road or in op shops, travelling the world, or exploring their neighbourhood on bikes.

Steven was taken from his family far too soon; there should have been more memories created, collections started together, fish tanks cleaned, daddy cuddles and music shared.

All donations made here in honour of Steven's life and memory will support Steven's two children as they navigate this next part of their lives, now unexpectedly and suddenly without their dad. Donations are accepted with gratitude (but not at all obligated) by Steven's family. This fundraiser was created as a means for those who have wanted to extend their support to do so in a meaningful way for his children.
