Pathways with a Purpose
Donation protected
WOW, WOW, WOW. We have almost reached our goal. Between Go Fund Me and some private donations, we are getting close to the goal of $16,000.
Friends, family members, and complete strangers have been amazing. We have been working together to create pathways and patios for the residents at an assisted living home near Fremont.
This idea came when a good friend, Tom began living at the Cottages on Martin Lake. He had been in a serious diving accident last year and is not able to use his arms or legs. Recently he has been able to be in a wheelchair for a few hours a day. While volunteering at the Cottages with a few residents, I realized that mobility options were very limited. It sparked a dream to be able to provide mobility pathways for the residents.
There was a need pave a larger patio area to be able to evacuate quickly and safely if needed. There was also a need for paved paths for the residents to use with wheelchairs or walkers.
The Cottages on Martin Lake include 2 buildings that each house up to 6 people. Most of the residents need walkers or wheelchairs. It was my hope that we, as a community, would be able to help PAVE the PATIO and PATHWAYS around the cottages so that the residents could be more mobile which will hopefully enhance their lives.
The good news is that the pavement has been laid and the residents are already using the pathway. Volunteers have raked and seeded the landscaping around the pathways.
We are very close to reaching the financial goal to pay for the project.
Please consider making a donation to provide mobility for many deserving friends in our community. This is a new facility and the owner is just getting started. This project will provide mobility for generations to come.
Thanks so much. If you need to reach me, click on the organizer contact button below.
