In Support of Our Husband, Father, and Brother Lue
Donation protected
Dear community:
On Saturday, June 7, in the early morning, Lue was outside his home watering his lawn, ICE agents in unmarked vans arrested and detained him. He has since then been transferred from Sacramento to a detention facility in Hawaii. Lue is currently facing deportation to Laos (or at worst a third-party unknown country), a place that he has never lived in.
Like the thousands of Hmong families in the U.S., Lue’s family escaped war in Laos in the late 1970s. Lue was born in a refugee resettlement camp in Thailand and came here as a refugee. He has lived in Sacramento for nearly 20 years, raising his children, tinkering with bikes, and supporting his extended family as a son, son-in-law, and uncle.
We are organizing this Gofundme to support Lue and his family. Funds will go towards immediate needs, which include Lue’s legal representation, financial support for his family, and travel costs to visit Lue in detention, and longer-term needs when Lue is deported.
With gratitude,
Lue's Family
