UPDATE 2024-11-29
Thank you to all the donors for your generosity and your solidarity; through this campaign you are helping support Lebanon and Lebanese who need us during the uncertain and difficult times that the country has been going through for the last two months.
A ceasefire deal has been announced this week, and with this news comes hope for the end of the war, yet its impacts and grave repercussions will last for years.
Below are details on how the donations we received so far are being distributed:
Phase 1: 1,500 CAD (~1065 USD) are on the way to IRAP; our team on the ground will provide updates and photos of the basic needs purchased to support the displaced families that were impacted by the war.
Phase 2: ~ 1,090 CAD (750 USD) were donated to Embrace. Embrace’s ongoing mission includes raising awareness around mental health, providing direct support to the community and ensuring that every hurt voice is heard. Embrace launched the Embrace Mental Health Center to treat the trauma and grief, as well as the Embrace Lifeline (1564) for emotional support and suicide prevention.
Thank you again for your precious contribution
Please keep spreading the word to help us reach our objective and to support our fellow compatriots as much as possible during these times of need.
We wish you hope and better days to come.

INITIAL POST 2024-10-02
Lebanon is going through a devastating crisis due to the ongoing war. Families are displaced, communities are struggling, and basic needs are becoming harder to meet every day.
As members of SILA, a community dedicated to supporting Lebanese who are immigrating and integrating in Canada, we are also committed to support our loved ones back home who are suffering from the escalating situation.
That's why we are launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide much-needed aid directly to those affected by the war in Lebanon.
As a first phase, we are partnering with IRAP, which is now helping displaced families by providing food, medicine, and essentials for children. Alongside this, IRAP continues its mission to support children with hearing impairments and learning difficulties.
IRAP is helping families like:
- **Fadia and Elias:** Army members, facing danger or desertion, alongside their young families.
- **El Qaouzah families:** Housed in Antélias but in urgent need of medicines, milk, and essential supplies.
- **Sandra’s family:** Now 12 people in one house, fleeing from a border village.
- **Joumana and Ibrahim:** A deaf couple displaced to a bare room in Bourj Hamoud.
- **Hoda H. and her children:** Fleeing bombings from Aïn el Remmaneh.
- **Hoda S. and her family:** Escaping from the South, now sheltered by IRAP in Beirut.
These are just a few of the many families in need.
Every donation helps! **Please donate and share today.**
We will be updating this GoFundMe page regularly, please visit us again <3
Thank you for your generosity and solidarity.
With gratitude,
The SILA Team.
