In Support of The Family of the Late Don Saunders

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am the Reverend Fr. Keith Cartwright, father of Donald Saunders who was brutally murdered during the robbery of a business establishment on Wednesday March 27th, 2024 in the community of Gambier, New Providence, The Bahamas.

My son’s entire life was one of national service. From a young age, he was actively involved in church life and community development. He entered into national frontline politics to make a difference in the lives of people from all backgrounds. He served unselfishly, often times at great personal and familial sacrifice.

Don leaves behind his wife, Tiffany, who is battling sickle cell disease, having been hospitalized on many occasions and is unable to obtain health insurance; his daughter, Danielle, who will begin her final year in a USA University training in sports therapy; and his son, Don Don, who is a top academic and athletic student at St. John’s College in New Providence, representing The Bahamas at regional and international swimming events.

My beloved son leaves a balance in excess of USD $300,000 on an uninsured mortgage over his family home, outstanding university fees of USD $36,000 for Danielle and USD $5,000 for Don Don's final year in high school.

My brothers and sisters we seek your kind assistance in these challenging times. Your contributions, no matter how small, will indeed go a long way in alleviating the financial burden on my son's family who is already grappling with the loss of their beloved husband and father.

Your generosity will help ensure that Don's legacy of national service is honored, and that his family can find some relief during this trying period.
