In Memory of Sonia David

On Sunday January 9, 2022, our worlds were forever changed with the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved friend, Sonia David. To know Sonia is to love her. If you met her even once, you would have a fond memory of her bright smile, her ever-positive outlook and her vivacious personality. And in that one meeting, chances are your conversation wouldn’t end without a mention of her family. Her family was her reason for being. She was a devoted wife to the love of her life, a loving mother to three amazing children who she was so proud of, a daughter, a sister, an aunt. Nothing made Sonia happier than her holiday gatherings, her family vacations, and the simple days at home. She was a loyal and true friend to many. The friendships she built have stood the test of time. As a hairstylist in New York City, Sonia has met people from every walk of life. She had an innate ability to connect with whoever sat in her chair, instantly becoming friends, and often, becoming like family. Her loyal following would not only rave about her hair styling expertise, but, just like her friends and family, about her unwavering support, genuine consolation, and honest advice.

There aren’t enough words to put into perspective what Sonia meant to us and to her community. She built a beautiful life but was taken much too soon. Sonia leaves behind three children, Giuliana, Sabrina, and Jayden and her husband, Julio. Her mother, sisters and family are devastated by this monumental loss.
