In Loving Memory of Sergio "El Nica" Flores – A Father Like No Other

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Sergio Flores – a man of deep faith, unwavering love, and endless generosity. On April 10, 2025, Sergio went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with medical complications.

Sergio, lovingly known as “El Nica,” was more than a husband, father, and grandfather – he was a cornerstone of his family and his community. For over 70 years, Sergio served as a barber, beginning in Nicaragua and continuing his craft in the United States, where he and his children, opened “El Nica Barbershop.” More than just a business, the barbershop became a place of peace, community, and ministry – where everyone who walked through the door was greeted with a warm smile and open arms.

On the right side of the shop sat a desk with an open Bible – a symbol of Sergio’s deep love for God and his desire to share the gospel with others. He didn’t just speak about faith – he lived it. Through his kind words, wise counsel, and quiet strength, he touched countless lives.

Sergio was the main provider for his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria, and their two granddaughters, whom he and Maria adopted nearly a decade ago. He was their rock – spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

Today, we ask our friends, family, community, and brothers and sisters in Christ to come together in support of Maria and the girls as they navigate life without their beloved Sergio. Your donations will go directly to helping Maria with funeral expenses, household needs, and the continued care of their granddaughters.

We know Sergio is rejoicing in heaven, and while our hearts ache, we find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. A legacy of love, service, and faith.

As Sergio often said, "One decision can change a generation." That’s exactly what he did for the Flores family – changing lives for generations to come through his faith in God.

En Memoria de Sergio "El Nica" Flores – Un Padre Como Ninguno

Con gran dolor en el corazón, compartimos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado Sergio Flores, un hombre de profunda fe, amor incondicional y generosidad sin límites. El 10 de abril de 2025, Sergio partió a los brazos del Señor, rodeado de su familia tras una larga y valiente lucha contra complicaciones medicas.

Sergio, conocido con cariño como "El Nica", fue mucho más que esposo, padre y abuelo: fue el pilar de su familia y su comunidad. Durante más de 70 años ejerció como barbero, comenzando en Nicaragua y continuando su vocación en los Estados Unidos, donde junto a sus hijos, fundó “El Nica Barbershop”. Más que un negocio, la barbería se convirtió en un lugar de paz, comunidad y ministerio – donde cada persona que entraba era recibida con una sonrisa y los brazos abiertos.

A la derecha de la barbería siempre había un escritorio con una Biblia abierta – símbolo del amor profundo de Sergio por Dios y su deseo de compartir el evangelio. No solo hablaba de fe, él la vivía. Con sus palabras sabias, consejos sinceros y fortaleza tranquila, tocó muchas vidas.

Sergio fue el principal proveedor para su amada esposa María, con quien compartió 58 años de matrimonio, y para sus dos nietas, a quienes él y María adoptaron hace 10 anos. Fue su roca – espiritual, emocional y económicamente.

Hoy pedimos a nuestros amigos, familiares, comunidad y hermanos en Cristo que se unan en apoyo a María y a las niñas mientras enfrentan la vida sin su amado Sergio. Las donaciones serán destinadas directamente a cubrir los gastos del funeral, necesidades del hogar y el cuidado continuo de sus nietas.

Sabemos que Sergio está celebrando en el cielo, y aunque nuestros corazones están rotos, encontramos consuelo en el legado que deja. Un legado de amor, servicio y fe.

Como Sergio siempre decia: “Una decisión puede cambiar una generación.” Y eso es precisamente lo que hizo por la familia Flores – transformando vidas para las futuras generaciones a través de su fe en Dios.
