In memory of Surinder Kaur Lotay

In honour and memory of Sardarni Surinder Kaur Lotay ; a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

 

On 25th November 2021, we said our final good bye to our dearest and most precious Nani Ji. For those who had the pleasure and the honour of meeting her, you will know that she was a huge advocate for giving back to the community, and for always helping others without discrimination.

 

With a real zest for life, and the most "get up and go" attitude I've ever seen, Nani Ji was involved in a number of groups and pockets of the community. Some of these included the Burnt Oak Food Bank where she always got her grandchildren involved, the Harrow Tai Chi group which she loved learning and helping to lead on, her sewing class which she started from scratch, and multiple other organisations where she was able to do seva.

On top of this, she showed her quiet kindness in many other ways. Whether this was making food for someone struggling, fixing clothing or just about anything with her trusty sewing machine, or driving you in her beloved car to wherever you needed to go. We'd like to thank those friends and family who have taken the time recently to tell us about her small, but constant, random acts of kindness.

 

With her spirit and her kindness in mind, as a family we are setting up a fundraiser to give back to three groups that she not only helped to grow, but believed in and enjoyed whilst making the most of life. We are kindly requesting donations which will be divided equally between the three following groups, and will most definitely give them the support as local groups to keep doing the work that our Nani Ji believed in.

 

No amount is too small, and we as a family, would greatly appreciate your support for Nani Ji's fundraiser as her final act of kindness.
