Running in Memory of Our Dad and Pop — Two Hemispheres, Two Generations
This year, my daughter Molly and I are running two marathons, on opposite sides of the world, in memory of a very special man—our beloved Dad and Popa, John.
John was a proud blind veteran and a passionate archer, supported by the Blind Veterans UK Bowmen. Even after losing his sight, he never gave up on living life to the fullest. His strength, resilience, and warmth touched everyone who knew him. During his archery career, John won many awards—a testament to his determination, focus, and incredible talent.
I’ll be running a half marathon in Nottingham this September, and Molly will be running a full marathon in Melbourne. Two generations. Two hemispheres. One united purpose—to honour the life and legacy of the man who continues to inspire us every single day.
All donations will go directly to the Blind Veterans UK Bowmen, a community that gave Dad purpose, support, and friendship—and helped him continue doing what he loved most.
Every mile is for him. For his courage. His kindness. His memory.
Thank you so much for your support—it truly means the world to us.
