Hi, we are friends and work colleagues, of many years of Dave and his partner Katie.

Dave was Head of PE at All Saints Catholic School in York, where he had worked for nearly 20 years. He was the kindest and most thoughtful man; a gentle giant and the students and staff all loved him.

Dave was father to 3 children.

Katie went on maternity leave in May and Baby George was born on May 21st.

Dave went into hospital 3 days later feeling very unwell. He had fluid around his heart, it then was his lungs.

It wasn’t until a few days before Dave passed away that the family were told that there was little they could do to save him. Dave was diagnosed with an aggressive lung cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes. Dave gave it everything he could to fight it but in the end, the cancer took over.

Dave fell asleep surrounded by his loved ones on Monday 7th July, the day after his 44th birthday.

He leaves Katie and his 3 children devastated by their sudden loss.
