Simply, I've lost a loved one. My mom. We lived together for the past 30 years. She was fighting endometrial cancer. Got chemotherapy and for a fleeting time a PET scan showed that there were no traces of cancer. We celebrated that as a miracle because it had stage 4. It was short lived. 3 months later the cancer recurred and invaded her internals
Weeks after her oncologist told her that she had only days or weeks to live. She accepted and was admitted at Mount Vernon hospital. She was getting medicines, mostly morphine for her abdominal pain. Days after she was moved to impatient hospice care. Her antibiotics were suspended because it was a curative effort but because she was in hospice care ,all curative efforts were suspended even though she contracted an infection at the hospital infection was Gram Positive. The antibiotics were suspended and transported to Sibley hospital in DC for hospice care. She died 2 days later. She did not suffer and peacefully passed away probably under the effects of the morphine t h rough an IV.
It was devastating. I'm disabled a d bedridden since 2023 at home on a semielectric hospital bed. We were happy living together for the past 30 years even though we did not have any valuable possessions.
I am hoping to reaching g your heart and generosity to mitigate the tough times coming my way. I am already experiencing the firsts. The first weekend without her,the first dinner without her etc. We could never be prepared for the inevitable.
May God bless you all.
May God keep her soul in His grace. If you can not donate Just pray for us.'
