In Memory of Matt Jacobs: Support for His Wife & Son

Donation protected
Hello family, friends, and supporting community,

As many of you know, I lost my beloved father, Matt Jacobs, on August 22, 2025. He was only 57 years old and had been fighting bile duct cancer for the last 3 years of his life. My dad was the greatest man. He always did his best to take care of all his obligations, whether they were at work, home, or elsewhere. Growing up, my father was always the primary breadwinner. My mom, Michelle, has worked at Target part-time for longer than I have been alive. With my dad’s failing health, though, she has not been able to even work her normal part-time hours for quite some time now. My mom has always been an incredible companion to my dad. She has not once left his side in the 32 years they have been married, and especially not after his cancer diagnosis in June 2022. My mom graciously took on the complete role of caregiver in the last several months of his life. He was admitted to the hospital on 8/2, where he remained until his passing. Prior to his hospitalization, he was still able to walk at home with the help of a walker, but he was getting weaker by the day and required a lot of help with tasks he could once complete on his own.

My parents are the type of people that are always down to help others but never like to ask for help themselves. I have created this GoFundMe to support both my mother and brother, Jordan, who lives at home with my mom. As Matt’s daughter, I want to do everything I can to reduce stress and make sure all their needs are met. Losing my father has already been an enormous loss. It’s been just the three of them living in the same house since we lost my sister in 2019. Now they not only have to deal with his physical absence, but they have also lost the head of the house. My dad took care of so many different household tasks and chores before he became too sick to do so.

This fund will go directly towards supporting Michelle and Jordan with whatever they may need. My biggest focus is on repairs that are needed at their home, but even assistance with items like meals or utilities would be a blessing. Every contribution, no matter the size, eases some of the weight these two are carrying.

I know that not everyone is able to give financially. Please know that your thoughts and prayers are just as meaningful.

Thank you so much for keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers and for helping to ease some of the financial burdens that my mom faces. She has already experienced way more loss than any woman should have to: first with losing her 19-year-old daughter in 2019 and now with losing my dad. I would love to help her pave the way to a brighter future.
