I have had the fortune of knowing Jessica Rajnherc for the past 15 years. Anyone who has had the chance to be in her presence for only a minute would recognize her as someone displaying a laundry list of motherly qualities and values. She is loving, kind, accepting, reassuring, and intuitive. I knew that she was fit for motherhood when she met Michael Winters in 2014. Together, they showed me (and countless others) what unconditional love truly is. Michael is authentic, grounded, empathetic, involved, and goes much further than just “above and beyond.” Both of these parents display unwavering loyalty.

One morning, this couple woke up differently. They found out that they were going to be parents despite all of the roadblocks they’d had to overcome to do so. They were full of love for someone they hadn’t yet met. We all know people that would make amazing parents but I would argue to say that these two were destined to be the most amazing parents to the most amazing little boy, Mason.

On Thursday, December 8th, 2022 at 10:34 PM, a miracle baby was born. Mason Thomas Winters weighed 7 lbs, 5.8 oz. Both mother and son proved just how much they loved each other (and Michael) as both of them fought for their lives to continue together.

The amount of love these parents shared for their son isn’t something that can be measured.

Mason was loved. Mason was cherished. Mason gave his all to spend just a little more time with mom and dad. One morning, this couple woke up differently once again. Mason’s suffering transitioned to peace on Sunday, February 19th, 2023. We will never stop saying Mason’s name.

Jessica has helped hundreds, if not thousands, of new mothers with their newborn babies as a registered nurse. Michael has helped just as many as a registered nurse, too. While we can all express our sympathies, well wishes, and condolences… What this family needs is time to grieve and time to breathe. I don’t want this precious family to have to worry about funeral costs and extra unforeseen expenses. I’m asking for donations that might help the Winters during a time when none of us have the right words to say. At the very least, maybe we can all provide a bit of relief.
