In Memory of Ken Sobczyk to Lakes Area Dive Team

We have created this fund in honor of Kenneth Sobczyk. All donated funds will be given to the Lakes Area Dive Team for their hard work and dedication- they were a huge help with Kenneth Sobczyk (and other drowning victims) on Leech Lake and the surrounding areas. The Lakes Area Dive Team is a non-profit volunteer program and is funded entirely by donations.

Last month (July 2023), we lost one of our seasonal guests to Leech Lake. Ken Sobczyk was an avid fisherman at Leech Lake and spent most of his summer mornings on Leech Lake fishing for walleye. On July 11th, 2023, Ken Sobczyk didn't come back in from fishing at his normal time. At that time, the Cass County Sherriff's Department and Lakes Area Dive Team had been notified. His boat was located by the Cass County Sherriff's Department and the Lakes Area Dive Team immediately went to work working around the clock to help find Ken. We are beyond thankful and appreciative of their dedication and hard work. His family, friends and the community at Agency Bay Lodge couldn't be more appreciative of the Lakes Area Dive Team along with the Cass County Sherriff's Department, Crow Wing County Sherriff's Department and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

We will also have a spot at the lodge as well if you would like to donate in person using cash or check to the Lakes Area Dive Team
