We write to you regarding the Burns family and, in particular, Worth and his four beautiful children. It is with profound sadness that we grieve the passing of Katie after a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer. But there is comfort in the fact that her surviving family has an extensive support network. We ask you to honor Katie, and her memory, by joining that network to offer your love and support to Worth, Jake, Sadie, Eliza, and Jane. So many have asked how they can help - we feel this page is a great place to start!

 

Worth must care for Sadie, Eliza, and Jane on a daily basis. He must maintain the house, prepare the meals, handle the shopping, arrange for transport to and from daily activities, pay the bills, and handle every other conceivable household task (large and small) – and through it all, it must be done without Katie by his side. She was a spouse, best friend, mother, confidant and their biggest cheerleader.

 

This is a call to action. Worth and his children would do well to have less to worry about. We ask you to consider making a donation – in any amount – to help Worth defray the cost associated with outsourcing as much of this as he can, at least for the short term. The money will be used appropriately – please consider taking a moment to consider Worth’s challenges and honor Katie’s memory by making such a donation. Worth is the most compassionate, thoughtful, and selfless person we know, but Worth would never ask anyone for this sort of help. Let’s come together and do it for him.
