Almost three years ago, Karanvir Singh Waraich, born on July 14, 2000, moved to the United States of America on a student visa to complete his education. After finishing his studies, Karanvir worked odd jobs until he finally began working as a truck driver in California to support himself and his family for the past year and a half. Last week, Karanvir, who had just celebrated his 25th birthday and saved up to buy a new car, was traveling back to California on his truck route, trying to get home as soon as possible so that he could go and celebrate with his Uncle’s family whom he lived with. In the early hours of July 19, Karanvir’s semi-truck hit a rail guard on the freeway, causing his semi-truck to flip and set fire. Karanvir, unable to get out of the truck, passed away in the flames at about 2:15am in New Mexico. Karanvir leaves behind both of his parents and an older brother.

In this incredibly difficult time, we kindly request your consideration in assisting Karanvir’s family with the unexpected expenses related to Karanvir’s death. Karanvir’s family is unable to travel to the USA and are requesting that his remains be brought back to Punjab. The proceeds from this fundraiser will directly go to the costs of reuniting Karanvir with his family, as well as any expenses his family may face.

We remember Karanvir as a kind, hard-working man who put a smile on everyone’s face and could turn any possibility into reality.
