During the pandemic, when most of us were dealing with the anxiety of Covid and quarantine, my dear friend Jodi was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Under unimaginable isolation and separation from many family members and friends, she took the news of this terminal diagnosis and handled it as best she could. She worked and helped support her family. She had school meetings for her kids. She sent gifts out to people for holidays, birthdays and special occasions. She had duties as a wife and mother that were so important to her she could not forsake them. She never allowed cancer to rule her life. She showed up for people and the things she believed in. She covered her head and put on makeup to be there for those she knew needed to hear from her. Those that needed to see her. Those that needed to learn from her. On days when she admitted to "feeling crappy" she showed up. While she showed up for meetings, and smiled her brilliant smile every day, she was battling to live. The rest of us wallowed in pity for her, she stepped with grace towards putting up the fight of her life. Anyone who had the good fortune of being a friend or even an acquaintance of Jodi's, knows just how special she was and what a positive impact she had on anyone who entered her life.
Unfortunately, on May 2nd, 2022 Jodi succumbed to complications of this insidious disease. She worked tirelessly every day because she loved what she did. She worker hard to provide a life for her family, specifically her beautiful twin babies, her “Twinkies”, Remy and Lulu. This GoFundme was created to honor that effort. Jodi had aspirations for her kids, and now her husband Jordan, a heartbroken single parent has a lot to fill in for. I ask you, friends/family/colleagues, if you have it in your means please help by donating here for her children.
Thank you and God bless!
