In memory of Gordon (Scott) Caple

Hello,

I am creating this fundraiser for the Caple family regarding the unexpected and tragic loss of Gordon (Scott) Caple. Scott was an incredible Husband, Father, and Friend loved by so many. He will never be forgotten and will always be remembered for his kindness. I am asking for help covering Scott's end-of-life costs and supporting Kellyann and her family as they navigate a new normal. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and donations.

"On Friday, September 16, 2022, at 7:48 AM, Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and EMS crews were dispatched to the 26000 block of Riverside Drive Extended in Salisbury, Maryland, for a motor vehicle crash with serious injuries. Deputies and Fire/EMS arrived at the scene and found two vehicles involved in the crash. Initial investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer stopped on the roadway and was preparing to unload when it was struck in the rear by a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup.

The driver of the Dodge has been identified as 55-year-old Gordon Caple of Eden, Maryland. Mr. Caple was transported to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional with serious injuries.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Mr. Caple was pronounced deceased at Tidal Health PRMC. There were no passengers with Mr. Caple.

The tractor-trailer was unoccupied at the time of the collision. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called to the scene to investigate.

Riverside Drive Extended was closed until approximately 1230 hrs while CRU investigated the collision scene. The Maryland State Police, the Fruitland Police Department, and the Ocean City Police Department assisted with the investigation."
