In memory of Derek T Hortman

As many of you know, the Hortman family and many others have suffered a tremendous loss. Derek Hortman was tragically taken from us during a fatal snow mobile accident on January 20th, at the young age of 49.

There is not enough room here for me to explain what Derek meant to so many people, He was a devoted and dedicated husband to his wife Karin, and a wonderful loving father to his four children Chelsie, Cameron, Christian and Cydney.

Though there is nothing that can fill the void that Derek has left, many of you have asked how you can help Karin. I have been blessed to be friends with the Hortman family for over 20 years. I have started this GoFundMe for anyone that would like to make a memorial contribution to the Hortman children’s education fund.

Thank you to all for being here to care for this amazing family as they mourn the loss of a man who was truly larger than life and the center of their universe.
