In Memory of David Peru: Support for His Loved Ones

David R. Peru, 62, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born in Red Bank, NJ, David lived in Bridgewater for 21 years.

David was a devoted husband, father, and family man whose greatest joy was his loved ones. He shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Jennifer, who was not only his partner in life but also his best friend and greatest source of strength. Their bond was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they created countless cherished memories, especially at Jen’s father’s lake house, where they spent time fishing, playing games, and enjoying time with family. Jen was his anchor, his confidante, and the heart of his world.

David was an extraordinary father to his sons, Zachary and Adam, who were his pride and joy. He was their biggest cheerleader, always present at their events, and deeply involved in their lives. He coached and trained them in basketball and assisted them in lacrosse, track and field, and their school projects, always encouraging them to pursue their passions and excel. David was a constant source of inspiration, instilling in them a love of learning, creativity, and the importance of family.

David was a man of immense intellect and creativity. He had a passion for philosophy, numerical analysis, and puzzles, which led him to create three Sudoku books and 158 instructional YouTube videos. His love for games and storytelling inspired him to invent several board and card games, leaving a legacy of imagination and innovation.

Professionally, David was a trailblazer. He had a successful career in programming and business, working in the semiconductor and banking industries before transforming his father’s model airplane hobby business, BP Hobbies, into a thriving enterprise. He brought the business online, developed custom software, and expanded operations to a warehouse. In 2004, he traveled to China to launch low-cost electric motors, helping to ignite the modern hobby drone industry. At its peak, BP Hobbies served over 300 hobby stores and thousands of customers worldwide.

David’s zest for life was infectious. He was the life of any gathering, always ready with a story or a joke to bring joy to others. He loved fishing, fantasy football, college basketball, and gaming with friends, but his happiest moments were those spent with his family.

David is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joan and Stanley Peru. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Peru; his cherished sons, Zachary and Adam Peru; his sister Debbie Peru and her husband James Minadeo; his brother-in-law Matthew Collier; nieces Julia Collier and Cora Minadeo; and nephews Nicholas Collier and Nicholas Minadeo.

David’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and creativity. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1 – 3 p.m. at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Committal is private.
