In Loving Memory of Christopher John Naylor
03.01.1991 – 19.10.2024
It is with shattered hearts that I share the loss of my beautiful son, Christopher John Naylor, who tragically died by suicide at the age of 33 on 19.10.2024 after struggling with his mental health.
Christopher was so deeply loved — a son, a brother, a dad, and so much more. Our family is completely broken by his loss and will never be the same again. He was our forever loved boy, and his absence has left a pain that words can never fully describe.
At the darkest moment of our lives, Wasdale Mountain Rescue attended the scene alongside the police. They gave their time, professionalism, and compassion to help bring my son home. They do this day and night, in all weather and terrain, for families like ours — often facing unimaginable circumstances — and they do it as unpaid volunteers.
This fundraising page is my way of saying thank you.
It is my way of honouring Christopher’s life and memory, and of showing my gratitude to an incredible organisation that exists to help others in their most desperate moments.
WHY IM FUNDRAISING FOR WASDALE MOUNTAIN RESCUE.
Mountain Rescue teams are independent, volunteer-run charities that receive little or no government funding. They rely almost entirely on public donations to continue their life-saving work.
Funds raised support essential operational costs such as rescue vehicles, fuel, medical supplies, communications, specialist training, and rescue bases — at a time when callouts are increasing and resources are already stretched.
Clothing, Equipment, and Life-Saving Technology
Volunteers operate in extreme and dangerous conditions where proper protective clothing and personal equipment are vital for their safety and effectiveness. While teams strive to provide or subsidise this gear, it is costly and heavily reliant on fundraising.
Modern technology has also transformed search and rescue. Thermal-imaging drones and high-powered zoom cameras can help locate missing people faster!
From a Broken Mum, Thank You
Nothing can ever take away the pain of losing my son. But if this fundraiser helps Wasdale Mountain Rescue continue their vital work — and helps even one family bring their loved one home safely — then Christopher’s legacy will live on through compassion, kindness, and care for others.
Thank you for reading, for donating if you are able, for sharing this page, and for remembering my beautiful boy.

A Message About Mental Health
Mental health struggles are often invisible. Someone can appear strong, loving, and capable while quietly carrying unbearable pain. Christopher’s death is a devastating reminder that mental illness does not discriminate and that suffering is not a sign of weakness.
Asking for help is one of the bravest things a person can do.
If you are worried about someone else, please check in with them. Listen without judgement.
Let us honour Christopher by talking more openly about mental health.
You matter. Your life matters.❤️✨️❤️
