Our Story

Our Beautiful Daughters Bella and Hallie Bevan

On the 17th of April 2023, our beautiful daughter, Bella Bevan, woke up very unwell and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at just 15 months old. She was a healthy, joyful little girl with a smile that could brighten even the darkest day. There were no signs, no warnings—just the unimaginable reality that our little girl was gone.
At the time, I (Sophie) was 30 weeks pregnant with our second daughter. We were preparing for Bella to become a big sister—she was so excited and already showed so much love. Losing her shattered our world.

Just three months later, we welcomed our second baby girl, Hallie Bella Bevan. Her middle name was chosen in honor of her big sister. Hallie became our light at the end of an impossibly dark tunnel. She brought laughter back into our home, softened the sharpest edges of grief, and reminded us how to feel joy again. But along with that joy came fear. We still had no answers about what had taken Bella from us. Desperate to protect Hallie, we had countless tests done, including common genetic testing . Doctors assured us she was healthy—and she was. She was perfect. Just like Bella.

Sadly, on the 17th of February 2025, Hallie woke up very unwell. And tragically, she passed away suddenly, at just 19 months old. No warning. No clear cause. Just like her big sister.

We lost both of our daughters. Two precious, perfect little girls—just 22 months apart. Losing one child is a pain no parent should ever endure. Losing two daughters, in nearly identical and unexplained ways, is a heartbreak beyond words. And with them, we lost the life we dreamed of, the future we had planned, and the reason we once had to carry on.

Now, we are undergoing genetic testing in the hope of finding answers—answers we so desperately need, not just for ourselves, but to honor Bella and Hallie.

Unfortunately, there is only a 1 in 5 chance that testing will reveal a cause. Genetic testing is still relatively new and lacks the depth of research needed to always provide clear answers. But we hold on to hope—because hope is all we have.

Our goal now is to raise awareness. We want to share Bella and Hallie’s story so that other families facing similar tragedies might one day have answers, support, and possibly even prevention. No family should ever have to go through what we have.

Bella and Hallie will always be the heart of our family. They were beautiful, loved, and full of light. Though they were with us for far too short a time, their impact is eternal. Their story, and their legacy, will live on in everything we do

On the 19th October 2025 - Sam Bella & Hallie’s Daddy will be running the York Marathon to help raise funds for his daughter’s forever resting place. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will make such a difference.
