In Memory of Andrew Jenks: Support for Heather and Wade

Donation protected
On July 6, 2024 Andrew Jenks gained his angel wings after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Growing up in Lynchburg, Andrew loved his community and dedicated 15 years of honorable service to the Lynchburg Fire Department, most recently as a Master Firefighter at Station 1 on C Shift. His passion for firefighting developed during his teenage years while volunteering with the Brookville Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department. Andrew continued his career, sharing his knowledge and devotion to the mission throughout Lynchburg at Station 6 and Station 1. He volunteered for all aspects of the profession by becoming a member of the Technical Rescue and Wildland teams and played the drums in the Pipe and Drum Corp. During every C Shift, Andrew could be seen riding in the seat of Truck 1.

When not at the firehouse, Andrew enjoyed raising Black Angus cattle on his farm. What started as a hobby soon became a shared passion with his son. Andrew and Wade would roam the fields, counting and feeding the cows.

Andrew never met a stranger and had a way of bringing people together with a smile and a hug. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Money raised will go towards:

  • Wade's future and education
  • Maintaining the farm and Black Angus cattle Andrew loved so much
  • Bills and expenses as Heather takes time off of work to grieve the loss of Andrew
