In Memory of Alex: Donate to Maui Relief

Hi everyone this is Nikki Jankowski. I'm making this GoFundMe to honor my brother who passed away last December. Alex was studying for his master's at Chaminade University of Honolulu. On this day last year, my dad was at the airport to pick up my brother, but he didn’t make the flight. He was returning from Masters school in Hawaii to be home for the holidays. The night before his flight he had taken an Adderall to study for an exam. He was prescribed it but ran out and bought some from a friend. The Adderall turned out to have fentanyl-laced in it. He passed away from fentanyl poisoning. He had 20 nanograms in his system. 1 nanogram is 1 billionth of a gram. The fentanyl crisis is real and our country needs to work together to end this. The amount of people inside a boeing 777 is the same amount of people who die each day from fentanyl in America. If a plane with 289-368 people crashed every day it would be on the news everywhere. This is happening with fentanyl. Please be careful if you buy any drug from even a close friend, you never know what it could be laced with. He was in Hawaii during the devasting wildfires in Maui. To honor my brother I wanted to raise money to give to the Maui Strong Fund. I thought the best way to do this fundraising is to make this GoFundMe and I'll take all the donations and submit them to the Maui Strong Fund. Alex was an experienced diver and was a certified instructor. He had so much love for Hawaii and the ocean. I know it's hard to donate during the holidays but even a dollar would make a difference.
