In Memoriam: Supporting the family of Matthew Hawes

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with profound sorrow that we share the loss of our beloved Matthew Adam Hawes, who passed away on February 6th, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. Matt brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him, and his memory will forever be held in our hearts.

Matt will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his infectious smile and sense of humor, and his tremendous skill and artistry as a craftsman/electrician. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Most importantly, Matt was a devoted husband and father, a man who always put his family first. He found immense joy in sharing moments with the loves of his life—his wife, Kylie, and their daughters, Tenley and Cora—whether through simple daily rituals or exciting adventures. His deep sense of community extended beyond his home, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand, share his knowledge, and uplift those around him-especially within his union brotherhood.

Matt’s generosity and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. In continuation of this generosity, Matt’s final act was to donate his organs, saving many lives.

This website has established to assist Kylie, Tenley, and Cora as they face this heavy transition. Your generosity and kindness are deeply appreciated.
