Life can change in the blink of an eye. What we know, what we love -- it can all change. Our comfort, our security, our home -- it can all be taken away.

One phone call can change everything.

That's all it took -- one phone call. And then we are left to begin again, start over, in the blink of an eye. The phone call we received on Saturday, July 30th did just that, as my family was told that Michael Salhaney, father to 7, loving husband, son, brother and so much more was hit and killed by a driver operating under the influence of drugs while riding in the Make a Wish Foundation Wish-A-Mile bicycle tour.

Our father was always generous with his time and resources, making sure to always take care of our single household, and unfortunately his unexpected and tragic death during this charity event has left his family in uncertain circumstances. As we attempt to navigate life without and begin to adjust to our new normal any help would be appreciated as we cover the cost of this unforeseen funeral and attempt to do the best we can to get our family’s life back on track.

Michael’s visitation will be Monday, August 8th from 3-8pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons, 2600 Crooks Rd, Troy,
