In Memorial - Charles "Chuck" Short

As most of you are aware by now, my brother-in-law, Chuck Short, passed away this past Saturday after a lengthy battle with complications of Type II diabetes.

As Chuck's wife and my sister, Robin, stated, we can all find comfort in knowing that Chuck has been reunited with his Dad and Mom among other loved ones on the other side and is again enjoying his eternal life without earthly limitations.

Speaking of my sister, Robin, I have never met a more powerful, resourceful, compassionate, and strong woman (or man!) in my life. Chuck's diabetes was a family diease. It affected Robin and my nephew, Scott, both. I can't even pretend that I could do a fraction of the work that was demanded of my sister daily. It would have broken me; but, not Robin. Although her resolve was tested many times; she always pulled up her boottraps, adjusted her smile and humor and kept going without even letting most people know how difficult it was.

My heart break for Scott that has lost his father. I know there will always be a permanent hole in his heart that will be impossible to fill. It will always be there no matter how old you get. However, sweet nephew, it was created from love. Just remember that.

After we celebrate Chuck's life here in earth, the hard part starts. My sister is now a single mother to a college bound teenager (oh, the joys!!). Again, I can't imagine the strength needed, but I know she will find it as she always has.

Many have ask how to help. So, I have created this GoFundMe account to help Robin and Scott in whatever financial needs arise as they go forth in this new life on their own. It's not going to be easy as a single income household again.
