Renee laid there, struggling to survive, as the people who should have protected her stood by and did nothing. I cannot begin to describe the agony we all felt when we heard the news.

I was left in shock, numb to the reality that the world had lost one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever known. No one should ever have to endure such violence.
