As a community, we come together to support the Russell family who tragically lost their young adult daughter, Lorielle Georgina following a devastating accident on Mount Beerwah on Sunday 15th March.
Lorielle is an identical twin. Arabella, her sister who survived the accident also lost her boyfriend, who passed away 3 days later, in this devastating accident.
On Friday 27th March 2026, we farwelled Lorielle. Within the service was Arabella's poem: Incomplete
I am she
She is me
Two parts of a whole
Together complete
She is gone
To where I can't follow
I step forward
But she stays still
Frozen forever
Too soon
She won't grow old
She won't fall in love
She won't ever be a mum, or aunty or friend
How can I live?
When a part of me is gone
I am she
She is me
Two parts of a whole
No longer complete
Arabella's poem expresses the loss of her loved one, Lorielle. Nothing can reduce the pain this family is experiencing. So the only thing we could do is give. Through your donations, you provide much needed help to support the family financially and let them know they are not alone in their darkess days.
If you are able, please give what you can to support this family who are a treasured part of our community, and to assist them in their time of need.
Please rest assured that all monies raised will be provided directly to the family to support funeral costs and their healing journey.
It is the kindness and generosity of the community who are making the difference for this family. Your help, your donations, your kindness has funded Lorielle's funeral and celebration of life service, where we came together in a sea of pink, to celebrate the light & love of Lorielle.
This family has no income to sustain them due to long standing illness and now insurmountable grief. Thanks to the outpouring of generosity from the community, additional funds will support the famiy basic needs and medical expensives, while they try to find a new way to live without Lorielle.
It is with the deepest heartfelt thanks and profound appreciation for your kindness and support.
In loving memory of Lorielle - August 2007 to March 2026.
