In Loving Memory of Phea Neang

On February 13 at 10:30 AM, our beloved mother, Phea Neang, passed away peacefully at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family in her final moments. She was 85 years old and passed of natural causes due to old age.

Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful she was comforted by the presence of her loved ones as she took her final rest.

Her Story

Phea Neang’s life reflects the journey of many Southeast Asian refugees who endured the hardships of war in the 1970s–1980s. Her family escaped the devastation of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and sought refuge in camps in Thailand before being sponsored to come to the United States.

She immigrated to America in the 1980s with her family, first settling in Salem, Oregon. After a few years, they moved to Long Beach, California in search of better opportunities and to build a stronger future for their children.

Phea was a devoted homemaker whose strength held her family together through every chapter of life. She dedicated herself to caring for her household and played an instrumental role in helping raise her two grandsons. Her love was quiet but powerful — shown through home-cooked meals, gentle guidance, sacrifice, and unwavering support.

Family meant everything to her. Her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward the values of resilience, kindness, and unity that she instilled in all of us.
